OER20 moves online

The Board of Trustees met on 12 March to review the situation of the OER20 Conference in light of the developing COVID-19 outbreak.

The Board reviewed all aspects of the conference, our participants, speakers, sponsors and staff. We have come to the view that the risks we now face are so serious and complex that we have no effective way of mitigating against them and that for that reason we must cancel the face to face element of the OER20 conference and deliver part of the event as an online conference instead.

In brief, the online edition of the conference will run on the same dates as before, 1-2 April 2020, using the tried and tested model of ALT’s Online Winter Conference. Further information will be posted at https://oer20.oerconf.org/.

We are offering participants a full refund of the registration fee and are contacting everyone individually via email. Please check your SPAM folder if you haven’t received an email. Should participants wish to donate part of their registration fee towards the delivery of the online edition of the OER Conference offering we would welcome your support.

If you were due to present a session at the conference, we will be in touch from 16 March about your options for taking part in the online edition of the conference.
