1) Who are you?
My name is Tiffani Reardon, and I’m logging in from Athens, GA in the US. I am the program manager for Affordable Learning Georgia, a University System of Georgia initiative. I’m also a PhD student (Texas Tech University) and part-time instructor (Kennesaw State University) of technical communication. My background is in instructional design, technical communication, and open education. I’m currently doing OER work with accessibility and design, helping my system navigate remote teaching during this pandemic, and staying busy at home with my fiance and pets!

3) What gives you hope these days?
My (then) boyfriend and I just bought a house together and moved, and then the next day, he proposed! So right now, all of my happiness and hope are in my relationship, my family, our new house, and our coming wedding!
4) Who are you learning from lately?
I’m learning a lot from my professors at Texas Tech University both in and out of class. With all of my experience coming from the institution I spent the last 5 years at (Kennesaw State University), it’s been really interesting and essential to my professional development to learn from the faculty at another institution.
5) In your opinion, what should we all be caring about? Why?
Right now, we should all be caring about mental health more than anything. We should care about our own, and we should care about the mental health of others during this trying time. We should be thinking about how we can manage our mental health and help others manage their own. And there are so many ways to do that! In class, we should be thinking about what our students are going through with this rapid transition to remote teaching. At home, we should be thinking about what our families are going through. In the community, we should be thinking about what our friends and strangers are going through. Only buy what you need at the grocery store!
6) What do you hope to take away from OER20?
I’m interested in the research people have been doing over the last year (since OER19), but I’m also interested to just learn from others about how OER is and can continue to aid in the current crisis.
