1) Who are you?
I am an Open Resources Librarian at Lehman College, CUNY. I have an MLIS from Simmons University and MEd from Framingham State University. I am also an Assistant Professor, former OER Research Fellow, IRDL Scholar, New Yorker, parent, partner, sister, learning to sew, and doing my best.

3) What gives you hope these days?
My daughter’s teachers have been so inspiring in how they connect with my kids during this pandemic. Their dedication and compassion has given me such warm fuzzies.
4) Who are you learning from lately?
Just this morning I crashed the GOGN meeting and loved hearing all about the research from those brilliant folks. I’m in a weird spot as a librarian who is faculty who doesn’t have a PhD so I’m trying to pick up research methods wherever I can. I did attend the amazing Institute for Research Design in Librarianship, which taught me a lot, but wasn’t open focused.
5) In your opinion, what should we all be caring about? Why?
How we show care is such an important question, especially right now. I come back a lot to one of my favorite musicals, Into the Woods and the line “nice is different than good.” I think far too often we focus on performative niceness and it gets in the way of actual genuine kindness. It can also be an avenue that shuts down criticality, which we need to keep more than ever, even in a time of urgency.
6) What do you hope to take away from OER20?
I’m looking to connect and learn from everyone participating. I’m excited that going online has enabled wider engagement, even if I’m a little sad to not be in London right now.
