1) Who are you?
I’m Verena Roberts from Calgary, Alberta. Canada. I am a recent EdD graduate and member of the #GO-GN Network. I completed my research about Open Educational Practices in High School (Secondary) learning environments. I am currently a sessional instructor teaching about #EdTechEthics & Digital Literacies, however; I am looking forward to heading back to the K-12 world in September.
2) What is your vibe? Share it in a meme or quote…
“Today, give yourself permission to be outrageously kind, irrationally warm, improbably generous. I promise it will be a blast.” – Sasha Dicter
3) What gives you hope these days?
Spending time with my family and reflecting on the fact that I have the time to get to know them really well, and they me. The idea of borrowed time as I am “forced” into spending time with them and appreciating being forced so much….
4) Who are you learning from lately?
The Higher Ed Learning Collective @HigherEdLC (HigherEd focus) and #Learning2pivot (K-12 focus)
5) In your opinion, what should we all be caring about? Why?
Remembering that everyone learns at their own pace, in their own way….. and having the patience to support all learners.
6) What do you hope to take away from OER20?
I hope to build my resiliency, develop strategies to support empathy and patience and hang out with people who want to play nicely in my sandbox for a bit.
