1) Who are you?

Hello! I am an Assistant Professor of Professional Practice (doesn’t that sound fake?), the OER Librarian/Music and Theater Liaison at Oklahoma State University. My background is in music education and trumpet performance. I am surrounded by great people. I have two kids, an awesome chosen family, four dogs, and get to work in a library! My research interests include diversity and equity issues in open, definitions of creativity, and the partnering of effective instructional design with digital resources (particularly in the arts). Glad to meet all of you!

2) What is your vibe? Share it in a meme or quote…

Be Brave Enough to Suck at Something New

I don’t know as I am anywhere cool enough to have a vibe. But this might come close. 🙂

3) What gives you hope these days?

Things like this conference. Cans of soup. My partner coming home every day, loving the world enough to go take care of her patients and loving me enough to change out of her scrubs before she talks through her day. My daughter, working so hard to effectively move the course she is teaching online and learn about effective associated pedagogies. That people are still so very, very funny.

4) Who are you learning from lately?

Everyone. Loving great ideas and enthusiasm from Deb Baff, I am inspired by my colleagues Holly Luetkenhaus and Cristina Colquhoun, and reading everything I can from the GO-GN group!

My Library!

5) In your opinion, what should we all be caring about? Why?

The people with whom we are sharing this world now, as well as the people with whom we will be sharing the world in the future.

We need to be caring for ourselves, and being delicate and tender with the people in our homes, especially right now as we are always, always, always together.

Our families, in our homes and away.

6) What do you hope to take away from OER20?

Inspiration, encouragement, relationship, challenges. Courage.
