I’m a Senior Lecturer in Educational Development at City, University of London. I teach modules on the MA in Academic Practice on educationa technology, open practice, digital literacies. I also run the website copyrightliteracy.org with Chris Morrison and I’m sometimes seen wearing novelty copyright t-shirts.

I found this quote from Paolo Freire recently “education is an act of love and this is an act of courage.”

3) What gives you hope these days?

The belief that my works matters but also the sunshine, the birds singing, kindness of strangers and my family and friends keeping me going.

4) Who are you learning from lately?

Everyone but also I’m reading a lot of Brene Brown.

5) In your opinion, what should we all be caring about? Why?

Big questions about what matters in the world in relation to education, our future, the planet.

6) What do you hope to take away from OER20?

New connections and seeing old friends
